About Me
Thank you so much for taking a few moments to learn about the work that I do, I must say that I feel so honored that you’ve come to look and so incredibly fortunate to be able to make my life’s work out of capturing moments and helping people remember the love in their lives.
I’m Britt (awkward wave!), and I am *almost* your typical artist type. For you psychology nerds, I’m an INFJ (Introvert, Intuition, Feeling, Judging). Which basically means that I’m nearly the most typical personality profile for an artist (INFP), but instead of just ‘going with the flow,’ I’d rather plan a full itinerary and have eight different contingency plans. This rather likely explains the pages-long plans that I create for family trips and my need to have a timeline and portrait list in place at every wedding! I dunno if it has anything to do with my love for slipper socks and beanies in the winter and bare feet in the summer or my love for decaf caramel macchiatos and cheese pizza, but maybe that doesn’t matter. The internet says I’m essentially a modern, female, Jon Snow and I am just gonna take that for the God’s honest truth :)
I’m your standard, 30-something suburban mom. I have two kids, two dogs, one husband, one horse, four chickens, and one singular love for making beautiful, meaningful images. I love my weird life where I get to be a complete, PJ-wearing introvert most days and then bring the energy and the extraversion out when the situation is just right or a camera in my hands gives me the courage.
And I’m passionate about using the images that I make for a purpose, and that’s to make you remember the love you have for yourself, your people, and the life you’ve made. Photographs are powerful tools and there’s nothing I’d rather do with them than keep your memories and your feelings alive. Sometimes I try to describe my style of work for people — I grasp at words like authentic, emotional, honest, photojournalistic — and they are all close but just not quite it. I think that my photographs are really just the intersection of how I see things and your story — at one particular moment in it. It’s a formula that might be weird and might not be for everyone, but it’s what I’ve got and what I’m hoping to share.
I love stories. I’d love to hear yours and I’d love to help tell a part of it. I hope to hear from you.
